About NorthPost.net
I’m just a guy with a blog, nothing more complicated than that. Social media is great for conversation, but it’s terrible for keeping track of useful information. Details about gear, places, travel tips, and experiences get buried under endless threads, repeated questions, and half‑answers with no context. NorthPost.net is my antidote to that.
What you’ll find here
- Travel stories and observations from around the world
- Places, towns, and cities worth exploring
- Outdoor adventures: hiking, camping, kayaking, snowshoeing
- Gear talk: bags, backpacks, knives, multitools
- Watches, clocks, and all things horology
- Vehicles: cars, motorcycles, and the culture around them
In short: classic “guy stuff,” shaped by someone who grew up in the 80s, when learning meant a trip to the library, catching the evening news, flipping through hobby magazines, and meeting people at local clubs. Those things still matter, but the ability to share ideas with the entire world from a single website is something I never take for granted.
Who’s behind the blog?
My name is Frank. I was born and raised in the Netherlands, where I went to school, studied, and worked before moving to the United States in my mid‑twenties. Since then, I’ve lived mostly in Michigan with a few years in California. I like to think of myself as an American Netherlander or a Dutch American carrying pieces of both cultures and a healthy, critical view of each.
I’ve always enjoyed personal blogs. They’re simple, direct, and human. That’s the spirit behind NorthPost.net. I hope you find something here that sparks your curiosity or helps you plan your next adventure.
